Webhooks

A webhook sends a message to a web address when something happens. Tools like Zapier and Make give you such an address. Only the owner of the host page can set this up. You can add up to 5 endpoints.

You can pick: a guest gets tickets, an order is refunded, a guest cancels a free RSVP, a guest is checked in, or you publish an event. The address must start with https://.

Each message is a POST with JSON and an X-CharlotteList-Signature header. Check it with your signing secret. We show the secret one time, so copy it. Your address must answer with a 2xx code within 8 seconds.

Failed sends retry up to 5 times. After 20 failures in a row we pause the endpoint. Press Resume once you fix it.

  1. Open Settings and find the Webhooks card.
  2. Press Set up webhooks.
  3. Paste your https:// address and tick the events to send.
  4. Press Add endpoint and copy the secret.
  5. Press Send a test.
