Terms of Service
Last updated October 2, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and FOODIE GUY L.L.C. ("Charlotte List", "we", "us"). They cover your use of charlottelist.com. By creating an account, posting an event, or getting a ticket, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. What Charlotte List is
Charlotte List is a platform. Hosts use it to post events, take RSVPs, sell tickets, and message their guests. Guests use it to find events and get tickets.
Hosts run their own events. Unless an event page says Charlotte List is the host, we do not organize, own, or control the event. The host is the seller of its tickets, and the deal for a ticket is between the guest and the host.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older to create an account.
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your devices and sign-in methods secure.
- One person or business per account. Do not share it or sell it.
3. Tickets and RSVPs
- A ticket or RSVP lets you attend the event under the host's rules. The host can set age limits, a waiver, a dress code, or other conditions.
- The host sets the refund policy. If no policy is shown, ask the host. If a host cancels an event, the host must refund paid tickets.
- Do not resell tickets for more than you paid unless the host allows it.
- We can cancel tickets obtained by fraud, by bots, or against these terms.
4. Payments and fees
- Card payments run through Stripe and go to the host's own Stripe account. Hosts must accept Stripe's Connected Account Agreement to take card payments.
- Any service fee is shown before you pay. Fees can change, but never for an order you already placed.
- Some hosts take payment through Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, or Square. Those payments happen outside Charlotte List. We cannot verify, reverse, or refund them. Take any problem to the host and to that payment app.
- Chargebacks and payment disputes on a host's sales are the host's responsibility.
5. Rules for hosts
- Describe your event honestly: what it is, where, when, and what a ticket includes.
- Honor every valid ticket.
- Follow the law. You are responsible for permits, venue rules, capacity limits, alcohol rules, age checks, insurance, safety, and taxes on your sales.
- Tell your guests promptly about a change or a cancellation, and refund as your policy and the law require.
- Use guest contact details only to run and promote your own events. Do not sell them or hand them to others.
6. Messaging rules
- Hosts can message only people who agreed to hear from them. Do not upload or message purchased, scraped, or borrowed lists.
- Every marketing email must keep its unsubscribe link. Every text program must honor STOP.
- Charlotte List event texts. If you check the text box on an event form, you agree to get recurring text messages from that host through Charlotte List: ticket confirmations, event reminders, changes, and announcements. Agreeing is not a condition of getting a ticket. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help, or email hello@charlottelist.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- We can pause or block sending from any host that draws complaints or breaks these rules.
7. What you post
- You keep ownership of what you post: event details, photos, and messages.
- You give us permission to host, show, copy, and share that content as needed to run and promote Charlotte List and your events.
- Post only content you have the right to use.
8. What is not allowed
- Illegal events, sales, or content.
- Fake events, misleading listings, or impersonating another person or business.
- Harassment, hate, or threats.
- Spam, scraping, bots, or any attempt to break or overload the service.
- Getting around our fees, security, or account limits.
9. Suspension and closing accounts
We can suspend or close an account or a host page that breaks these terms, puts people at risk, or exposes us or others to harm. You can close your account at any time by emailing hello@charlottelist.com. Closing an account does not cancel what you already owe to guests or to us.
10. Events carry risk
You attend events at your own risk. Charlotte List does not inspect venues, vet hosts, or supervise events. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for injury, loss, or damage at or on the way to an event. Take any claim about an event to its host.
11. The service comes as it is
We work to keep Charlotte List running well, but we provide it "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise that the service will be free of errors or interruptions.
12. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, Charlotte List and FOODIE GUY L.L.C. are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the greater of $100 or the fees you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim.
13. You cover claims you cause
If someone brings a claim against us because of your event, your content, your messages, or your breach of these terms, you will cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim.
14. Governing law
North Carolina law governs these terms. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
15. Changes to these terms
We will post changes on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell account holders by email. Using the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
